The trees are finally starting to come out, and we took in a beautiful spring afternoon last Sunday when Michael grilled us the tastiest hamburgers I think I’ve ever eaten!
Little Michael was fascinated with his dad’s Big Green Egg, the smoke, the flames, and all the grilling utensils. He was also thrilled with the whole experience of eating outside.
What came off the grill were the juiciest, moistest, most flavorful burgers you can imagine!
Everyone was eager to dig in!
We visited a neighborhood park for the first time this week, and Michael was happy to explore a new playground.
He was tickled by the wobbly bridge.
And excited to investigate the water wheel.
This is a great park for an 18-month old. It has a toddler playground in addition to a bigger kids’ play area and quite a few fun activity stations like the water wheel.
Little Michael also spent some time at Bluebird Park this week. He discovered dandelions!
And was a wee bit upset when the wind blew the downy tufts off!
Some time on the swing put a smile back on his face.
We also had fun visiting a quiet duck pond in our neighborhood.
We saw baby ducks crossing the path in front of us.
And some gosslings under the bridge to the dock. Mom and Dad did not want anyone walking onto the dock, so we stayed on the trail!
Yesterday, we headed down to the theater room to watch the Kentucky Derby!
All the rain in Louisville made the race extra exciting to watch. Little Michael had fun seeing the ponies run.
Our other animal adventure this week was a visit to Purina Farms.
Purina Farms has dogs, cats, cows, pigs, horses, donkeys, chickens, baby animals, a petting zoo, dog show arenas, and a large barn with a loft and play area. Little Michael got to pet his first goat, a friendly kid who was eager for some company.
Then he visited some chickens.
He even got to pet one!
Next, it was on to see some piglets. They were busy tearing up paper.
We saw a moo-cow munching on some hay.
Finally, we watched some dogs getting trained to conclude our visit to Purina Farms.
As you can see, we’ve really enjoyed the warmer weather and the chance to spend time outside. Little Michael loves being outdoors, and we’re looking forward to many more springtime adventures.
Great blog Heidi! Michael Jr is so so cute, just want to hug him:) Michael’s burgers would rival a Shack Burger I’m sure! Can’t wait to see Michael on Tuesday.
