I tried out another easy and delicious recipe from my sister’s “Dinner” board on Pinterest. However, it was not my first time to taste it. She made it for me when I was in Texas this summer, and it was fantastic. The recipe is definitely a “dump dinner,” and it comes from the Chocolate Therapy blog. You can find the recipe post here. Just set it up in the morning, and by the end of the day, you’ll have a tasty chicken taco dinner waiting for you.
What You Will Need:
1 packet of taco seasoning
6 chicken breasts ( I used about 1.5 lb of tenderloins)
1 jar of salsa, 16 oz. (I used Pace Restaurant Style Original Recipe Salsa)
toppings of your choosing- I used sour cream, Mexican blend cheese, and avocados
flour tortillas
Directions:
Lightly coat the inside of your Crock Pot with Crisco to ensure easy clean up.
Dump the chicken, taco seasoning, and salsa into your Crock Pot.
Stir the ingredients to blend and coat the chicken. There is no need to add any water.
Cook this spicy mixture on HIGH for 4-6 hours, or on LOW 6-8 hours. I cooked it on low while I was at work.
When you’re ready to eat, lift the lid and savor the aroma. Shred the chicken with a fork. Every time I’ve eaten this chicken, I’ve always been amazed at how moist and flavorful it is. The chicken does not get too dry during cooking and really absorbs the flavors.
Serve on tortillas with sour cream, cheese, and avocados, or any toppings you choose!
Yum Yum! I’m hungry just looking at it!
